Inmate Text App

Inmate messaging apps are the best method of keeping in touch with a loved one or friend who is currently imprisoned. These apps are created to meet prison regulations and permit family members and friends to send and receive messages pictures, eCards, video calls, and money into their trust accounts in prison. There are also federal inmate apps which provide additional services, such as video visits and phone calls.

JPay is one example. It allows friends and family members to transfer money directly to an inmate's trust account. They can also send videos, emails, photos, and eCards. You can also design personalized postcards using their own images. It's a safer, more secure alternative to postal mail.

Another popular texting app for prisoners is GettingOut. It offers "simple reliable, reliable communication" between inmates with their loved ones. The app is available at select correctional facilities and allows inmates to upload pictures and message friends and family via their tablets. It costs inmates $0.25 for each message, and loved ones pay for the data used to view their messages (but not for explicit pictures). The GettingOut application can be used to upload a picture to Facebook or Foursquare and then check in to Foursquare and also add a YouTube video.
